No. In Ontario you can book a counsellor or psychotherapist directly — no doctor's referral required. If you plan to use extended health benefits, confirm reimbursement details with your insurer.
How much does in-person therapy cost in Ontario?
Counselling runs on three tiers: from $110 per 50-minute session with a supervised clinician, $150–$175 with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and $175–$250 with a full Registered Psychotherapist. Most extended health plans cover registered psychotherapy, and a free consultation is included before you commit.
Do you offer virtual counselling across Ontario?
Yes. Secure virtual counselling is available to anyone in Ontario, alongside in-person sessions in Toronto, Brampton and Mississauga.
